Hanover Public School District teachers, Victoria Kozdron and Amanda Morgret, recently attended the PAECT Keystone Technology Innovators Summit held at Shippensburg University. Each school principal in Pennsylvania is invited to nominate a teacher for Keystone recognition and nominees may apply to attend Summit. Victoria and Amanda were chosen through a portfolio-based application. Attendees are chosen based on their demonstrated passion for education and technology. They are creative, innovative teachers who embrace best practices and technology integration in their schools. Keystones advocate the use of technology as a transformative tool to nurture the intellect, innovation, and imagination of students. The Summit is a week-long event where teachers spend time working in cohorts, attending pedagogical and technology-driven workshops, and building their personal learning networks (PLN). Additional highlights from the KTI Summit include keynote speakers, Edcamp or unconference sessions, and a STEAM hands-on event where participants engaged in 3D printing, coding, and robotics. The KTI Summit is organized by the Pennsylvania Association for Educational Technology and Communications (PAECT) which boasts a membership of over 450 educators from across Pennsylvania.
It is the goal of Summit to inspire attendees to return to their districts with heightened enthusiasm for technology-supported learning and to embrace the ideas of develop, connect, lead, and advocate. Victoria Kozdron and Amanda Morgret are excited to share their knowledge and passion with their colleagues at Hanover Public School District.
