Dear Parents:

Thank you for your patience as we continuously work on improving the transportation experience for our students. We are excited and enthusiastic about the number of students riding the buses. Our student participation far exceeds the state average. Thanks again for your support.

There have been several hurdles to leap in initiating transportation for all students K-12. In particular, we have received over 500 calls with approximately 300 calls requesting stop changes. In the near future in order to provide your student with better service, we will utilize a written form for all stop change requests. The form will be available online or in the offices.

Additionally, we are trying on a daily basis to balance our bus counts. We now have a week of data for each bus and the task of balancing numbers is now manageable.

Lastly, we are working diligently to more closely align the pick-up and drop-off times with the schedule or adjusted schedule that you received. There are many factors that contribute to the timelines of each stop. As you are well aware, traffic at times is congested and there are often road closures for Borough work. With dismissals at the high school and middle school at 2:50 PM (students boarding and leaving from Nighthawk Drive at 3:00 PM) and the elementary dismissal at 3:30 PM (students boarding and leaving by 3:40 PM), we have had to adjust drop off times accordingly. Also, drivers and students needed at least two weeks to familiarize themselves with procedures and routes.

Thanks again for your patience during this inaugural implementation of transportation.

Sincerely,

Dr. John A. Scola Superintendent
