8th grade Art & STEAM students explored the world of robotics during class! They then had the opportunity to apply what they learned by creating a robotic sculpture. This sculpture was student designed and had to incorporate 1 input (a sensor that gathers information from the world) and 1 output (an element that can cause something to happen in the world such as movement or lighting up), and all robotic elements had to be hidden in the sculpture. This project challenged students who had to design with the task of hiding sensors in their work and planning for movement and/or elements that light up. Once built, students had to program their sculptures to move or light up using the program Snap.
