Hanover High School has begun a NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills) pre-apprenticeship machining program for students interested in earning Level I machining certificates for the 2017-2018 school year. Students can earn up to eleven credentials during their junior and senior year obtaining an apprenticeship post graduation at participating local companies. The four companies working with Hanover High School are Elsner Engineering Works, Inc., KLK Welding, R.H. Sheppard Co, Inc., and Utz Quality Foods, Inc. under the umbrella of the Hanover Area Chamber of Commerce.
