A “Blend” of the Old and New in “Learning”

If anyone would have told me years ago that I would be embracing technology , I would have told them they were out of their mind. But here I am today to confess that I am a believer that lessons can be amazing when you leave your comfort zone and try new things.
With the help, guidance, and support of Miss Rickel, my students and I created not 1 but 2 videos in our new Media Studio.

We began as a way of sharing information about voting which showcased my students’ ability to recite all 44 Presidents and voice their opinions on the importance of voting. We were all very excited with the finished project. This year’s Unit on Voting was a blend of the tools that exist today mixed with the old ways that I presented information in the past. The 2nd one had to do with Veterans’ Day and was a 1st Grade Project to be presented at our Veterans’ Day Assembly. The students did a wonderful job and enjoyed taking part in this project, too. I look forward to using the Studio and to embracing the idea of Blended Learning in the future. When once I was fearful, now I’m excited. Caren Evans - Clearview
