Ten Commandments Monument at Wirt Park. This tablet was donated to the Borough of Hanover in 1954 by the Fraternal Order of Eagles. In January of 2004 the Americans United For Separation of Church and State notified the Borough of their intention to file a civil suite to have the tablet removed from public property. As of this writing (Aug. 2004) this issue has not been resolved, but the Borough may sell the plot of ground on which the monument stands to a organization to avoid the law suite.
