Patricia (Rudisill) Hoffman

Croton-On-Hudson, New York

Pat and her husband, Paul, live in Croton-On-Hudson, NY. They met in psychology class according to Pat, “between the id and the super ego” at Gettysburg College.

They have four children and seventeen grandchildren!

She was a teacher and a director of a nursery school, and she is retired. Paul is an attorney and he’s semi retired. Her hobbies are gardening, cooking, music, and sailing the Hudson River.  They have traveled extensively throughout the USA including Hawaii, and to Canada, Europe, and the Caribbean.

She rates the education we got at EHS as about the same as today’s public high schools. Mr. Schuler was her favorite teacher, and Miss Menges got her vote for the most effective teacher.

Pat almost never longs for the good old days, but she did enjoy the simpler life style and less crime of those days. She appreciates the medical advances and modern technology of the 2000’s.

Pat is proud of …

“Our family … we raised and educated four children who now have families of their own. They live some distance away in Washington, DC; Pennsylvania; northern New York state; and Arizona. We have family reunions three or four times a year. Included in our family are three exchange students (Sweden, Australia, and Costa Rica) who each lived with us for a year and visit when they can.”

Her message to her classmates is …

“50th high school reunion … we’re supposed to be old, but we’re not … are we?”

Both Pat and Paul have Bachelor’s Degrees from Gettysburg College, and Paul has a Law Degree from Harvard Law School.
