Anna (Pottorff) Hernandez

San Antonio, Texas

Ann, her husband, Peter, and their Springer Spaniel live in San Antonio, Texas. They met in 1954 at Texas Western College in El Paso. They have three children and five grandchildren. Ann was a teacher/counselor for 40 years, and she is retired. Peter is a real estate agent and he is semi retired. Her hobby is reading and she is an active volunteer. She does mentoring in elementary school and is actively involved in the St. Vincent De Paul Society at her church.

She sometimes thinks about the good old days when she liked, “a more simple and slower paced way of life.” She does appreciate the advanced technology of the 2000’s.

Ann added a note …

“Our oldest son, Peter Jr., is a full professor at Palo Alto College in San Antonio. Cecilia, our daughter, is the top real estate agent for Century 21, North Town and Country, in San Antonio, and our youngest son, Christopher, is a Tech Sergeant in the Air Force. Christopher specializes in law enforcement with canines and bomb detection, and he also does paralegal work in Frankfurt, Germany.”

She is proud of … “Teaching and counseling so many wonderful and loving elementary school children for 40 years. I loved my work and miss interacting with the children and teachers much!”

Ann’s message for her classmates is … “You are a wonderful group of classmates! I am looking forward to seeing and visiting with you in 2004 at our reunion. I have not seen you since 1954, when I graduated and went to college in Texas. Unfortunately, I have not attended any of the previous reunions due to teaching schedules.”

Both Ann and Peter have Bachelor’s degrees from Texas Western College in El Paso. Ann’s is in Elementary Education, and Peter’s is in Music. They both also have advanced degrees from Texas A & I in Kingsville, Texas in Guidance Counseling.
