Ronald E. Mummert

Dover, Pa.

Ron, his wife, Jean, and their cat live in Dover, Pa. They met on a blind date in 1955. They have four children and seven grandchildren. Ron worked in industrial sales and is semi retired. Jean is a retired secretary. Ron’s hobbies are antique Oldsmobiles (he has a ’49, a ’55, and a ’66), and gospel music concerts. He is also an active volunteer at his church.

His favorite teacher at EHS was his shop teacher, Mr. Stoner. His votes for most effective teacher went to Mr. Stoner and Miss Menges.

He and Jean have traveled very extensively throughout the United States including several Amtrac vacations across the country. They have also been to Canada and the Caribbean. They enjoy attending antique car shows, live performances of major entertainers, Broadway type musical performances, plays, and events their grandchildren are in.

Ron sometimes thinks about the good old days and he liked the cars and the music of those days.

What is he most proud of?

“First, we have four children who share our Christian values and lead happy productive lives. Second, I helped start an industrial distribution company 21 years ago that now employs 50 people and has three branch locations.”

Ron took courses in engineering and sales training at Penn State’s York Campus, and Jean graduated from York College.
