Joyce (Hamm) Elsner

Hanover, Pa.

Joyce, her husband, Bert (also Class of ’54), and their dog live in Hanover. They have three children and four grandchildren. She taught piano, and Bert was a mechanical engineer, then President and C.E.O. of Elsner Engineering Works, Inc.   They are both retired. Joyce has “lots of hobbies”, and she does volunteer work for the Gettysburg College Board of Trustees, her church, and the Board of Adams-Hanover Counseling Services, having served three terms as its president.

Joyce has traveled widely with her husband throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, and South America.

She quite often thinks about the good old days, and she misses the simplicity of life in those days. She does, however, appreciate the conveniences of the 2000’s.

Joyce is proud of, “being on the Board of Trustees of Gettysburg College”.

Her message to her classmates is …

“Enjoy life!”

Joyce has a B.S. in Music Education from Gettysburg College, and Bert has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University.
