Gary A. Graham

Gary passed away January 18, 2000 at the York Hospital.

He was married to the former Shari Ann Zinnaman. They had a daughter, Kathy, three grandchildren, and a great grandson, Zachary!

Gary was a machine tool design draftsman, a paralegal, and a real estate broker to earn a living, but he reserved an enormous amount of energy and time to help others which earned him a special place in the hearts of everyone whom he touched.

He spent many volunteer hours with the following agencies: York County Area Office of Aging, AARP, Hanover Public Library, Kiwanis Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Lohr’s Church visiting list for shut-in’s where he was Chairman of the Finance Committee, and Habitat for Humanity. In 1997, he was named “Volunteer of the Month” by the York County Agency on Aging.

His friend, Gary Scholl, wrote, “No doubt, ‘Ging’, was one of the boys. Mary Belle and I were honored to have sat with him and Shari at our 45th reunion. Truly they were a precious couple. I loved you Ging! Put in a good word for me up there.”

His daughter, Kathy, wrote …

“My father was the most generous man, giving of his time and money to worthy causes. He loved his church and his family. Never once did I hear him say anything ‘not nice’ about anyone he came in contact with. Everywhere he’d go, someone always knew him. Dad lived by ‘The Golden Rule’.”

“He and mother liked going to Las Vegas and New York City in their spare time. His favorite place to visit was New England. He also enjoyed reading and doing whatever he could to help others.”

“This world is a better place because he touched so many lives in so many positive ways.”
