Larry G. Blocher

Larry and his wife, Doris, live in Hanover. They have two children and four grandchildren. Both Larry and Doris are retired. He was a buyer for a Fortune 500 Company and she was a cafeteria aide. Larry does volunteer work for Taxaide which is a non-profit agency which helps low and moderate income families with their taxes. Larry’s hobby is music. For the last 56 years, he has played in several municipal bands including; K of P, Moose, P.O.S. of A, Brodbecks, Washington Band of Annville, and the Revonah Dutch German band in the Hanover area.

 

He served as EHS Class President for the 35th Reunion.

 

Larry and Doris have traveled widely throughout the USA including Hawaii and Alaska; and to Canada, Europe and Bermuda.

 

He is extremely proud of, “Graduating from college after 15 years of night school.”

 

Larry’s message to his classmates is, “Upon graduation from EHS, I volunteered for the draft and spent two years in the Army. I was assigned to an Army Band in Germany where my leave time was used to travel to 14 different countries. After returning to Hanover, I met my lovely wife, Doris, to whom I’ve been married 45+ years. We have two daughters, Darlene and Brenda, and they both teach in Hanover. While going to night school, I worked as a Purchasing Manager at Stauffer Biscuit, and ended my career at Hershey Foods as a Purchasing Specialist.”

 

Larry served in the US Army in Germany. He has a BS in Business Management from York College of Pa.
