Seventh grade STEAM students at HMS have been hard at work preparing to enter this year’s “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” contest through MANTEC. The contest is designed to get students excited and educated about manufacturing careers and opportunities across Pennsylvania.
This year Hanover Middle School welcomed two new teachers who have quickly assimilated and are doing great things for our students: Hannah Romanauskas graduated from Penn State in 2013 with a degree in Secondary Social Studies Education and, minors in History and Political Science.

Students in the art room at HMS recently welcomed the addition of a new photo booth. The photo booth uses high powered lights and reflective surfaces inside to create ideal lighting to photograph 2D and 3D art work.
Mr. Bitler’s 8th Grade Evolution of Games students toured the Hanover High School Metals Lab and Foundry. As part of the unit titled, “Rise of Modern Games,” 8th Grade students are designing their own Monopoly game pieces.
Hour of Code is a global movement to expose young students to the world of computer sciences and programming. At HMS, we recognize the ever-growing need for students to develop these skills and foster an interest in computer science careers, knowing that the job market for this field will continue to grow exponentially!
