I am sending this informational letter to all Borough families that have children attending in our district. This correspondence will give you an overview of new programs for the 2015-2016 school year offered in the Hanover Public School District. As always we respect your choice as we share our initiatives with you.

Please note the following:

  • Newly purchased elementary math program for grades K-6 ~ Everyday Math 4, McGraw Hill

  • Newly purchased secondary math program for grades 7-12 ~ Glencoe Math, McGraw Hill

  • New computer programming course to be taught in grades 6 & 8

  • New music technology course for grade 5

  • Newly purchased Social Studies materials for grades 4-8 ~ History Alive!

  • Chromebooks available for all third graders. Currently, all students have their own Chromebooks grades 4-12 and K-2 students have access to a device at school.

  • Transformation of our Middle and High School libraries with state of the art technology, an updated printed collection, an array of emerging technology experiences for our students, 3D printers and video and audio studios with funding donated by the Hanover Shoe Farm Foundation.

  • Digital signage, in the form of large screen monitors will be displayed throughout all five buildings displaying student work, posting announcements, upcoming events, etc. with funding donated by the Hanover Shoe Farm Foundation

  • Expansion of Advanced Placement offerings at the High School ~ 11 AP courses now offered with two additional AP courses planned for the 2016-2017 school year

  • Transportation – Bus routes with pick-ups and drop-off times are currently being established. Transportation is slated to begin on August 19, 2015, the first day of school.

  • Expanded Metal Lab and Construction Technology Lab with an addition of a CNC router and lathe for manufacturing with funding donated by the Hanover Foundation for Excellence in Education.

  • Expansion of our Computer Aided Design (CAD) program at the High School

  • Award winning musical – Best Actress, Best Actor and Most Creative Award ~ numerous students returning for next year’s performances

  • Band and orchestra lessons for students in grades 3 through 8

  • Continuation of our Spanish language program in grades K-7

The above are just a few of the initiatives for the 2015-2016 school year. Each and every day we are committed to excellence as we continuously strive to improve our curricular offerings and programs at all levels of our district.
