A team of students took first place in York County Solid Waste Authority’s Recycled Art Contest on April 22. The reception and awards ceremony were held at CityArts in York. Maddie Reck, Olivia Lawrence, Jade McClane, Rylee Smith, Brook Bynaker and Brianna Martin were each contributors. The freshman girls assembled a lamp sculpture made from art slides, with a steel automotive rim base. The art department won $300.00 in art supply gift certificates and each team member won a $50.00 art supply gift certificate.
