Easton (PA) Flag

Blue field. Thirteen stars in a circle in field. Canton has 13 red and white stripes. (R12)

This flag hails from Easton, PA. It contains al the elements of the Stars an Stripes, but in reverse. Research shows that the Easton Flag did not figure in the Revolution, but arrived in battle during the War of 1812 at which time it was carried by the militia unit from Easton.

The "Defenders Flag" is believed to be the first to show 13 stars and 13 stripes. This flag was unfurled at the first reading of the Declaration of Independence in Easton. The original flag is still there.
