Ray, his wife, Sylvia, (also Class of ’54), and their Welsh terrier live in Hanover. They met in 9th grade at Hanover Junior High. They had four children (one deceased), and they have five grandchildren. He was a long distance truck driver for 48 years and is semi retired. Sylvia owned and operated Sterner’s Custom Draperies for 20 years, was also a store clerk and customer service rep, and she is now retired. His hobbies are sports --- football and racing. He is a volunteer fireman for three volunteer fire companies.

Ray sometimes thinks of the good old days and he liked … “Hudson cars and the slower pace of life” in those days. He is very grateful  for modern technical advances which, “Kept me from having a stroke or heart attack last year.”

He is proud of …

“Four great children, and our grandchildren. Also I have driven over 5,000,000 miles safely and was a self employed truck driver with my own truck for several years.”

Ray’s message to his classmates is …

“Come to the reunion !!! That’s when I can be long winded.”

“Hope to see many of you there.”
