Top fourth grade achievers in the ARty (Accelerated Reader) Program at all three elementary schools have been recognized at the awards assemblies at each school. The top boy and girl in fourth grade receive a trophy that is engraved with "AR Star". Those who are displaying a very long bar graph have attained at least 100 points this year in the program. Congratulations to all the winners!

Mr. Bitler: 2011-12 Outstanding Teacher of the Year!

Mr. Reagan Bitler, eighth grade social studies teacher at the Middle School, was named 2011-2012 outstanding teacher of the year at the Shippensburg University Study Council. Mr. Bitler was selected for his commitment to ongoing professional development, utilizing innovative practices in the classroom, serving in leadership roles in his school and for his commitment to community service.

Over 165 teachers and administrators, university faculty and family members attended the event and joined in the celebration of the teachers’ outstanding commitment to teaching. The annual event is sponsored by the Shippensburg University School Study Council, a professional development partnership between public school districts and the University, which supports school system leaders in improving the instructional experience.
