The Hanover Public School District operates a Practical Nursing Program which qualifies graduates for the Practical Nursing Licensure Examination. The one year program is approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nurse Examiners and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, 61 Broadway, New York, NY 10006 (Phone: 212-363-5555). The program is located at the Hanover High School.
Jobs for practical nurses are predicted to grow by fourteen percent through 2016 (U.S. Department of Labor, 2007). Our graduates work in nursing homes, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, doctor's offices, and specialty units. Job placement rates are 95-100% within 30 days.
When taking the National Council Licensure Examination our graduates consistently score above the national and state averages and have opportunities to continue their nursing education locally.
